About The ProgramThis program is designed to assist anyone who needs help with their rent and falls within our income guidelines. It is funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and allows people to choose their own rental unit, whether it is a house, apartment, or mobile home. The Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) generally pays the difference between the rent and utilities charged for a unit and 30% to 40% of the family's adjusted income. Payment is made directly to the landlord on the tenant's behalf, and the tenant remains responsible for paying an amount for the utilities and rent based on their income.
